Caty (Diaz) Jimenez

Caty is a talented and artistic person who grew up the daughter of Cuban immigrants. Her maiden name was Diaz and she graduated ILS in 1972 marking the 10th graduating class of the still very young ILS. She appreciates the simple things in life and yet is glamorous, artistic, and with an eye for fashion. Coupled with her natural charm is a sense of humor which she effortlessly uses to put anyone she meets at ease.

She understood a long time ago that how you make someone feel is more important that what you say to them. Although she claims she was a bit naughty and won’t share some of her more mischievous memories she fondly recalls Mr. McClick and Mr. Enrique’s typing class, participating in the infamous Powder Puff Games, and attending the basketball and football pep rallies.

After graduation, she attended Miami Dade South campus and at 18 married her husband whom she is still married to today. She worked at AT&T for 17 years and supported her husband in his business, Amongst her accomplishments, she values her role as wife, mother, and grandmother above all else.

Caty personifies the spirit of ILS with her philanthropic work, and she is guided by the idea that to give back to those less fortunate is not only the right thing to do but a way to give thanks for the life she enjoys. She sends a warm shoutout to her core group of friends from the class of 72 and expresses her love for them and views them as her sisters.
